TRAINING & BREEDING QUALITY ROCKY MOUNTAIN HORSES

Here He is, bareback again with a halter. He is long and low and picks up gaits easily, he hadn't been ridden all summer when this video was taken. He had been busy breeding mares and this was still breeding season while he was in with a mare. Still in tune to his rider!
Cotton is offered for sale to the right home at this time. Whether you are looking for a perfectly flaxen chocolate, well-trained mount OR to further your own breeding program! Consider breeding him to your own mares or many outside mares! You can surely earn full profit off this boy shortly after owning him through his foals and breedings!
He is suited in every way for any type of rider. Since he is a stallion I do recommend a new owner to be an experienced horse person. At this time and considering all of his talents, rare equitation and training, Cotton is offered for purchase but please call about pricing as we are very selective about his sale. We only do this because we believe in providing the best types of horses to spread the quality of the Rocky breed!
He is one of the only stallions that is as sure gaited, softly handled and ridden in a SNAFFLE. Cotton is beyond collected under saddle. He exhibits true, pure gaited collection. I just don't see that kind of talent among the breed! He is absolutely perfect in health, he has never had a lame or foundered step or significant injury. NEVER has he been shown in KY and therefor never trained to gait inverted or upside-down to achieve higher than capable knee action (compounding injuries typically follow).
This amazing stud respects electric fences... WOW! There is simply not another horse like Cotton! Most stallions live in stalls, not our boy, he loves to be managed with his ladies in the pasture (just a simple smooth double wire). He has always been barefoot and naturally trimmed. No big lifts to get this guy to gait... and he will never have them. He covers his mares in hand and pasture breeding. He is a nice guy in the breeding shed. If I tell him no breeding he keeps his eye on me instead of a mare. I always lead him in a standard rope halter, no punishing chains for him either!
I don't think there is another stallion in the world that would allow himself to be ridden bareback, bridleless and in a paddock next to mares and be as quiet as this boy right here!
Cotton during a exhibition for a trail competition, this was the first time he has seen any kind of these obstacles.
Midwest horse fair 2018
Cotton and Ebony executing a flawless example of gait at the MN Horse expo 2018. Ebony is his "wife" and he gently rides nicely with her every time. He does not mind bumping as we turn some of these fast corners. Ebony is much faster than he is.
Cotton is our family's horse and we hope you bring your next Cotton baby into your family as a life long friend!
Sire: Sewell's Chocolate Blaze (Choco X Sewell's Star) A grandson of Kilburn's Chocolate Sundown, a prolific son of the founding sire, TOBE! Also a multiple International Grand Champion!
Dam: Squirrel's Golden Girl (Maple's Squirrel X Old Yellow) A granddaughter of TOBE! Maple's Squirrel is known for his climbing gait, this boy surely has a similar style! Producer of many International Grand Champions!
Lineage alone, he's a champion producer. We knew this boy was going to be awesome!

Genetics: Ee nZ
Cotton carries a black gene (E), red gene (e), and he carries only one Silver dilution gene (Z). His mane (and his foal's) stays WHITE! Unlike other silver stallions that can often look almost black with age. Click here for more on genes!
Cotton has perfect eyes! Tested by a DVM Eye specialist, his eyes are clear. He does not have any eye abnormalities associated with ASD/MCOA. Do you want to know more about how the Silver gene is linked to this widely unknown genetic mutation? Click here!

"Cotton" as we fondly call him is a spectacular example of a fine Rocky Mountain. His stunning good looks are not only attributed to his gorgeous chocolate color and white mane/tail but also to a perfectly balanced body and conformation. He has never been shown in KY but continues to learn Cowboy dressage and go to Expos. He calls to me daily by stretching his elegant neck over his corral. Cotton flaunts himself by his boldly prancing, handsome looks and soft personality. A true southern gentleman.
As naturally gaiting as Rockies come, Cotton glides smoothly under saddle without missing a beat. Additionally, out on the trail he is brave without an ounce of spook. Cotton travels with us every year to expos and shows the world what a true rocky mountain horse is like. Maybe you will have a chance to ride this boy yourself if you come and visit!
Certified under saddle and driving in harness this boy is proven and one of a kind! Proud to be Minnesota bred!
Cotton has produced many gentle foals. They are first to meet you at the gate and demand attention. He is currently our beloved stallion however we would rehome him if you had a spectacular home and looking for that "PERFECT HORSE". That would include if you wanted him gelded first... Breeding retirement would look good on Cotton!
